We started Maitland’s from a genuine love of coffee. Luther and I noticed that while excellent coffee was available, it often came with a premium price tag. In April 2022, we decided to launch our own brand, beginning with three carefully selected medium roasts: Brazil Santos, Costa Rica and Ethiopian coffee.

We introduced our coffees at local Saturday markets, and the response was immediate and encouraging.

By December 2023, we had expanded our range to include flavoured coffees such as Irish Cream, Strawberry Cheesecake and Blueberry Cinnamon. Once again, we shared samples at local markets, and our coffees sold out. This wonderful response confirmed that we were creating something special.

What sets Maitland’s apart is our approach to roasting. Every batch is hand-roasted or partially hand-roasted using techniques we have refined over the years. Our methods require patience, attention and skill, allowing us to bring out the unique character of every bean.

For us, coffee is about more than a drink. It is about flavour, craftsmanship and creating a moment to pause and enjoy something special.
